Roses in the Orient
I had something entirely different in mind to make when I sewed together the strips of Oriental style fabrics. But it came out so nice that I decided to just work with the designs in the fabrics and maybe add some embellishments. I had some small roses and some other doodads that fit right into the theme. The vertical ribbons bring another dimension to the horizontal stripes. I hand-embroidered all around the edges and I had a sweet and charming art quilt ready for someone to enjoy.
