Green Feather Mandala
A smaller version of many mandalas in my Mandala collection. The background is a hand-dyed fabric, a cotton blend of some sort. All my mandalas were inspired by the North American Indians and their many cultural symbols. The drums are essential in their culture and has a significant mystical influence in their lives. The mandala as a symbol for healing and evoking spiritual guidance has been used in many cultures all over the world for many, many centuries. I used batiks for the arrowheads and a strong circular batik for the drum. Gold ribbons add to the energy of the overall impression. A feather is always present in my mandalas, a green one in this case. This art quilt is small and full of healing energy if one takes time to look at it closely.
